Bark Europa

Cape Town | South Africa

In 2023 the 570 ton S/V EUROPA fell over on its starboard side at the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront Dry Dock in Cape Town, South Africa. The vessel rolled over during transportation for launch onto the synchro lift. In a meticulously planned operation. Resolve Marine teams used a modular portable frame to fabricate keel support brackets, removed the EUROPA's free bogies, all critical elements for the operation. Portable frame foundations were laid on the quay's solid cement slab, with synchro-lift transverse frames poised for action. The lift was successfully completed and the EUROPA was placed upright onto the track system / dolleys. The lifting frame was then disassembled and the EUROPA was moved ashore for further repairs.
