N23 Jacket

The N23 JACKET platform toppled over during the final phases of installation in the Bombay High oil field, located approximately 120 nm off the coast of Mumbai, India. The jacket measured 92' x 92' x 255' and weighed approximately 2300 tons. At the time of the incident, the jacket was being installed in 190 ft of water.

Resolve Marine was contracted to recover the vessel and subsequently tow it to international waters for scuttling. The RMG1000 300x100ft crane barge was mobilized from Singapore and outfitted with 18 chain pullers to serve as the heavy lift asset.

Divers rigged the chain pullers to the jacket legs using wire grommets. Heave compensation units were installed to the back of the chain pullers to increase workability. The salvage team effectively lifted the jacket using a systematically engineered plan. The structure was then towed beyond the EEZ where it was safely scuttled.
